Allotments in Worthing

There are eight allotment sites within the Borough of Worthing. Any resident within the Borough over the age of 18 may apply to rent an allotment plot. The plots are of varying sizes, totalling a thousand plots. The average size of plot is 126.46 Sq Metres (5 square rods).

At the larger sites an Overseer deals with the day to day matters on his or her site, in conjunction with our contractors, Continental Landscapes Ltd.

To arrange to be added to the waiting list please contact Continental Landscapes.  Once you have reached the top of the list you will be contacted by the Overseer, or a member of the Continental Landscapes. A site meeting will be arranged, and a suitable plot agreed upon. At this stage the agreement can be completed, and the tenancy can be granted. A key for the Allotment Site and a copy of the Rules and Conditions will then be given.

Allotment rents are due each October, in advance, and proportionate bills will be calculated for part years. A discount of 30% will be given to allotment tenants over the age of 65.

Garden Share

Don't want an allotment - how about a garden share?

If you don't want to wait for an allotment, why not contact Garden Share, a scheme being run by Adur & Worthing Council's Community Wellbeing Team and Transition Town Worthing. They will try to match you with someone in your area who has spare space in their garden that they would be happy to let you grow some fruit and veggies in, for a share of the produce.
