History

Worthing Borough Council's Contact Centre opened in November 2003, initially answering Revenues, Benefits and General enquiries. In May 2006 the centre began to increase the services it offered with the introduction of Health and Housing and extended its opening hours to 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday. Planning Services and Tourist Information Centres came online in October and November 2006 respectively and future services include Parks and Leisure Services.

What is CRM?

CRM stands for Customer Relationship Management. It has previously been described as a 'new way of thinking' 'a journey not a destination' and 'a process of becoming a customer focussed organisation'. A CRM system involves a complex mixture of people, technology and business process redesign.

Put simply, we will look at how we handle customer enquiries and put in place efficient systems and procedures to benefit the Council and the customer.

CRM has the potential to contribute towards a number of Council priorities such as improving customer satisfaction, meeting e-Government targets and driving efficiency.

Our Aims

  • Providing front line services
  • Providing Information and assistance
  • Receiving Information from customers
  • Promoting the Council
