Your chance to be the Chancellor - Results

Page Rating

A big thank you to all 3,692 residents across Adur and Worthing who took the opportunity to become chancellor for the day as part of our budget engagement exercise.

Residents were asked at the end of the summer 2010 to highlight where they would feel most comfortable with the councils reducing the most costly budgets and also if they had any ideas for us to increase income. The leaflet was circulated to all 48,000 households and it also asked residents whether both councils should re-investigate the possibility of merging; only 42% in Adur were in favour however 56% of Worthing residents thought it would be a good idea.

The final budgets for both councils for 2011/12 will be finalised after Christmas 2010 and then ratified at both council's budget meetings in February 2011.

All these results will be considered by the two council’s budget advisory groups for detailed consideration.
