I don't think we're anywhere near 'out the other side' yet. Just last week I hear of two move firms biting the dust. I sell print and websites - which seems to be successfully riding the waves, as there is certainly an increase in 'new start ups' which is always good for us ;)

Our experience matches Jim's. Smaller design agencies are riding out the storm better than the larger ones, partly because of lower overheads and also because their clients are smaller and are re-marketing themselves; more work for designers! Also as larger companies struggle and lay off staff so more people set up in business on their own. Hence more start ups, it's an ill wind etc.

Sort the parking charges out.Get the shoppers back into Worthing. The cost of parking is driving people away. Move the Teville Gate redevelopment on. As a Gateway to Worthing it is a disgrace.

WBC needs to focus on actually supporting local smaller businesses and providing real valuable complementary services. Businesses do not engage with WBC because they have no reason to. Until WBC provide something of value then businesses will sail alone. WBC needs also to look at communication, income generation and marketing the town to outside investors.
