Welcome to the Worthing Borough Council petitions webpage. This page includes information about how to submit a petition on paper to the council. It will also eventually include an e-petitions portal where you can register a petition to receive on-line signatures.
Petitions will be accepted by the council as long as the person generating it lives, works or studies in the area. Any petition must concern an issue which is relevant to the council and the services it provides. Lists of services can be found at :

All petitions sent or presented to the Council will receive an acknowledgement within 10 working days of receipt. This acknowledgement will set out what we plan to do with the petition.

There are some restrictions when accepting petitions and they will not be accepted if they are considered to be vexatious, abusive or otherwise inappropriate. There are also restrictions appertaining to certain legislations and appeals procedures that are already in place. Please see the scheme for the full details.
