Setting Your Location

Did you know you can now save a location (such as where you live) on your computer, so this website delivers you information that is most relevant to you? This location is saved so you don't have to type it in every time.

You can set your location and as of November 2009 receive information on the following:

How to set it up

  1. Click the Set my location button where you see it on the website (a centralised location button is coming soon; buttons are available above and below these instructions.)
  2. Enter either your postcode or a postcode of a property in Worthing

    Enter a postcode to search for an address

  3. Select the property address from the drop down list

    Select the address from the drop down list

  4. Check the Store this address as My Location? checkbox

    Check Store this address as My Location to save it on your computer

Now when you use a location aware facility this location will be stored as its default. This location is stored in your web browser's cookies for up to 3 years. If you wish to remove this stored location, click the Set my location button and then Delete my location

Future developments

We will also be releasing a new gadget for the sidebar which will show you relevant local information when you visit a page e.g.:

And so forth. There is more on the way and it is anticpated that this will be fully integrated into the website rather than becoming a seperate service.

Over the coming year this website will become more 'location aware' which fits into people using smaller mobile devices on the move such as mobile phones, Blackberries, PDAs and Netbooks.
