Worthing Seafront from the Pier by Martin Duke

Worthing Pier and Seafront by Martin Duke, SussexPhoto.com
A View of Worthing for July 13th - 26th 2009

Martin took this wonderful wide view of Worthing seafront as seen from the Pier in the evening. With the early mornings, even the most dedicated photographer can struggle to rise early enough to catch sunrise so evening shots after the sun goes down are often a lot more manageable!

Martin took this as part of the Sussex Photo group which meets mostly every month to photograph local scenes around East and West Sussex, from landscapes to macro, wildlife to events and urban exploration to castles and stately homes. They welcome people of all abilities and whatever camera you use (digital and film) and if you're interested he says you can drop him an e-mail to find out more on martinduke@yahoo.com

Samples of what the various people in the group have done are available from their website at SussexPhoto.com

Thank you Martin for a great photo!

Get Your View Of Worthing On-line

Taken a photo in and around Worthing and looking to give it some exposure?

Fancy yourself a bit of a photography buff, know your aperture from your exposure or just got a photo that you think is a good view of Worthing? Why not send it into us via e-mail and we will choose A View of Worthing each fortnight and you could see your photo on the home page as well as on a dedicated page like this.

We won't be judging on technical wizardry and it doesn't matter what camera or equipment you use. All that matters is that the view is a good one of Worthing.

All we ask is that you send us the photo in a suitable format for us to upload (JPEG, PNG or TIFF, no RAW files please) and we will be in touch if we choose your View of Worthing.

Please only send three photos per submission. Only one submission per fortnight will be accepted to start with (we need to be sure we will be able to look at the photos properly in that time!)

  • Send your entry/entries to: webmaster@worthing.gov.uk

  • Your photo(s) must be in JPEG, PNG or TIFF format. Most digital compact cameras and film scans from high street stores are in JPEG format. We do not accept RAW files due to size and complexity of opening the files.

  • If you use 35mm film we will consider postal submissions depending on the demand for this, please e-mail us first before doing this. We hope to accept entries on medium format (120) film soon however we have no ability to accept large format now or in the future.

  • Please include: your name (or alias) and a telephone contact number.

Copyright and Ownership

Copyright and ownership of the photo remains with the person who took the photo but by entering your photo for A View Of Worthing you give permission for us to display your photo on-line.
