Martin Duke and Paul Spink of Media Attention sent us and also handed us a CD full of fantastic photos of the recent Worthing Birdman event. They used a Canon EOS 400D digital SLR and took this shot using a Sigma 70-300mm Telephoto Zoom lens.

As you can see, the water and skies on Saturday 5th July when this were taken were beautiful, with the sky a summer blue and the sea a turquoise and very mediterranean blue-green. No filters were used, this is just how lovely the day was as thousands watched along Worthing's promenade for the very first Worthing Birdman event.

The events proceeded as planned for the Saturday as the Condor and Da Vinci classes taking to the skies from the heights of the specially constructed ramp on Worthing's Pier. Large screens were erected on the beach so everybody could enjoy the action and they did so in their thousands. The Worthing Birdman will return in 2009 and this time we hope without the stormy weather that lead to the cancellation of the second day's events on Sunday.
