Popular Blue Starfish Club returns to Worthing

The popular Blue Starfish Club is putting on another evening of music and fun for adults with learning difficulties on Thursday 10 June 2010 at the Worthing Assembly Hall.  Doors open at 7.00 pm and the event will end at 10.00 pm. Tickets are £3 a head, carers and helpers are free.

Blue Starfish Club nights started in 2008 and provide an excellent opportunity for people with learning difficulties to showcase their talent as DJs, musicians and artists in front of a lively audience.

The Blue Starfish Club is part of the West Sussex Arts Partnership’s Blue Umbrella initiative which has set up similar clubs for adults with learning disabilities across the County.

From June onwards the events will be organised by Adur and Worthing’s Community Wellbeing team, the local branch of MENCAP, the Community Mental Health Team.  They will be taking over from Carousel, an award winning registered charity that helps people with a learning difficulty reach their potential in the arts.

Flyers have been distributed across the area but anybody who wants information about the June event can call Jo Marshall-Inns on 01273 263311 and anybody interested in volunteering to help on the night can call Annabelle Trent on 01273 263347.
