The Phoenix Club for the over 50+ of Worthing Leisure Centre meets every Friday for Fitness, Health and Friendship.

Members meet on Fridays to enjoy a wide variety of sports activities & friendship

Enjoy the fun and make new friends.  Singles and couples welcome. All equipment provided.

Morning package £2.65/Afternoon Sessions Paid Monthly-In-Advance

Over 50's are most welcome to join.  Purchase a Leisure Cetnre membership (£16.00 per year) and register or try a one off taster for an afternoon session - only £4.00 (quote ref PTS).  Refundable against membership.

Notes

Annual Focus Meeting- All members invited to air their views.  Venue announced on the notice board.

Coffee Break- 10.45-11.15 in the Shaftesbury Room or Sports Bar.  Morning members gather in a social environment for chat and refreshments at special 'Phoenix' prices.

Reduced Facilities - During shcool holidays the main hall facility is reduced to allow for the children's playscheme - last week July/August/first week September - reduced programme during club recess.

Lotus Health and Fitness Suite/Phoenix Concession- Phoenix members can register their interest at reception (ref. OL5).  Family History - Register at Reception (ref. H5) for taters introduction in 2007.

Book the above sessions in advance on a monthly basis- Payable one week before the start of each month.  If joining mid-month, payment is only due for the remaining sessions.  Book at the main reception desk.

Coffee Shop

Refreshments are available at Phoenix concessionary prices between the following times: 14:00 - 16:00

Speaker Lunches - 12.30 - 14.30.

These popular occasions are organised by members on the last Friday of each month.  Tickets cost £3.40 if purchased one week in advance from the Coffee Shop and £4.10 on the day.  Talk only tickets, £1.15 from reception purchased on the day (ticket screen) Entry 13.15 - Sorry no self catering allowed.  Guests are most welcome.  There is no Speaker Lunch during August.

TAI CHI - CHI KONG (CG5) 13.30 - 14.30 IN THE STUDIO FOLLOWED BY COMPLIMENTARY GREEN TEA WITH THE TUTOR - This is a monthly pay in advance continuous course - £5 per month members fee - or is offered as a TASTER for £10 per month, which can be credited off an annual membership fee at the end of the month.

HOW TO JOIN US?

If you are over 50 and want to get fit and healthy, join Worthing Leisure Centre and enrol with the Phoenix Club.  Membership costs £16 for a full year.

1. Purchase a Leisure Centre 50+ membership at the Main Reception Desk.

2. Take membership card to Hospitality Table on Friday morning in Leisure Centre Foyer to record your name on the Phoenix register (excluding August)  

3. Find out what's on and join in!

On Friday mornings, members take part in a varied programme of sports, art, craft, social and fitness activities, for an all inclusive price of £2.50 per session.  Friday afternoon activity sessions are on a "monthly pay in advance" basis and new members are invited to join this group.  Volunteer hosts are on hand to assist.

Afternoon taster session tickets are available for £4 (refundable if joining Worthing Lesiure Centre on the day of attendance).  Morning tasters are by arrangement.

Hospitality Table - In Reception on Fridays: Co-ordinator Jeanie Dickenson, Social Secretary Ruth Garratt and a rota of morning club members host the table.

Information on a wide range of events and activities is displayed.

Other social activities to register for at the hospitality table: Fun Drama - Cinema/Theatre Club - Outward Bound monthly trips for sketching and walking (2nd Tuesday monthly)

There are a wide range of social activities organised monthly by Phoenix Members.  The programme of scheduled events is available from the Phoenix Hospitality Tabke on Friday mornings or from hosts Liz and Hilda in the afternoons.
