8th October 2011 at the Pavilion Theatre, Worthing
There were scenes of celebration at the Adur and Worthing Business awards, which were hailed as great success. The glitzy black tie event at the Worthing’s Pavilion Theatre saw the area’s brightest industry talents turn out in celebration of what has been an extremely busy year.
Compère Fred Dinenage praised the ceremony as “the most exciting” he’d yet experienced and believed there was a wealth of worthy winners. He said: “I think these awards are very important, especially at a time when the country is struggling a bit. So I’m delighted to have been here and pleased it went so well.”
The event was strongly supported by Worthing and Adur councils, Adur and Worthing Business Partnership and sponsored by Spofforths who helped ensure the evening proved memorable.
The coveted Business of the Year category was claimed by Electronic Temperature Instruments, and Peter Webb, the company’s MD was ecstatic at the victory and hailed his staff as being instrumental in gaining the award.
Champagne corks were popped for Peter Saywell, whose lifetime achievement award announcement was greeted with roars of approval.
