Worthing Borough Council has recently introduced a streamlined and more flexible approach to applications for concessions. The Council wants to create a more vibrant and active seafront where there is a wide variety of things for people to see and do. The new process and on-line application form should mean that applicants get a quick decision. The exact length of time depends upon the complexity of the concession but the system will ensure that applicants are kept informed throughout the decision-making process.
If you have an idea for running a concession or you have already been successfully operating elsewhere, there are a few things that you will need to consider prior to making your application.
- You will need to have an up to date CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check. These are easily obtained and you can get guidance from the Criminal Records Bureau website
.
- You will also need to have Public Liability Insurance of £5m. Quotes for this can be obtained on-line.
- You will need to provide us with details of 2 referees who can vouch for your professionalism and the quality of your concession.
- Finally, you will need to carry out a risk assessment of your concession. This is not as difficult as it sounds and we have provided a template for you to download and complete on-line from the application form link below.
If you are happy to provide all the above information, please go ahead and complete our on-line application form.
