Communications, Performance and Scrutiny

Article's Rating

Communications in the council is involved with working with the media issuing press releases and guidance on upcoming issues for Worthing and also producing much of the council's internal and external publications. Our News section includes the council's press releases as well as the VIBE magazine, the council's local community magazine produced three times a year.

Scrutiny plays a vital role in the decision-making and policy development processes at Worthing Borough Council. The Committee is responsible for holding the Cabinet to account and to help develop new policies. They, therefore, monitor decisions taken by the Cabinet Members and examine the provision of services supplied by Council departments, contractors and external agencies within the Borough.

Performance and Risk Management produces the Best Value Performance Plan on an annual basis. The Council is committed to achieving best value from public investment in all its services. One of the main ways the Council continuously improves its services is through the Best Value Performance Plan system, which requires the Council to review its services.
