Performance Plan 2006 - 2007

Welcome to Worthing Borough Council’s Performance plan 2006/07. The Performance Plan provides details of our priorities, actions and performance targets for the next three years, up to 2009. The Plan has been developed by taking into account national and local priorities, Worthing’s sustainable Community Strategy, performance results and recommendations from the Audit Commission Annual Audit and Inspection Letter March 2006 and the West Sussex Local Area Agreement 2006 – 2009.

The Plan sets out:

The Council’s Corporate Plan’s four strategic priorities for Worthing. In order to ensure there is clarity about how these priorities will be met, a number of “Measures of Achievement” have been identified along with outcome and target measures. These will be embedded within the Service Plans that each section of the Council prepares and these will be monitored on an ongoing basis throughout the year;

Priority performance indicators and targets for Best Value Performance Indicators aligned to our Corporate Plan Priorities;

West Sussex Local Area Agreement outcomes and targets aligned to our Corporate Plan Priorities;

The Corporate Improvement Plan, produced following a review of the Council’s 2005/06 Corporate Improvement Action Plan and as a response to the recommended actions identified from the Audit Commission Annual Audit and Inspection Letter dated March 2006;

Other corporate priority performance indicators and targets;

Non priority performance indicators and targets;

Future improvement and scrutiny reviews to be carried out by Members of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and officers;

Progress made on the Corporate Improvement Action Plan as approved by the Council in March 2005;

Progress made on 2005/06 Key Priorities;

Progress made on recent Improvement Reviews.
