Worthing Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership

The Worthing Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP) was established in 1998 and has a statutory duty to reduce crime and disorder. The partnership is made up of the following agencies: Worthing Borough Council, Sussex Police, Sussex Police Authority, West Sussex County Council, West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service, West Sussex Primary Care Trust and  West Sussex Drug & Alcohol Action Team.

Many other partners contribute and are involved in the work of the CDRP, including those agencies from both the statutory and voluntary sector, local businesses and members of the community.

The Worthing Action Group (WAG) is the central group that determines much of the activity in Worthing. This group identifies problems and hotspots, in order to target action in those areas affected. If needed Local Action Teams (LATs) are established to deal with specific issues e.g. boy racing. LATs work in partnership with local residents to bring about effective solutions.

The types of issues dealt with might include: anti-social behaviour (ASB) (including youth-related disorder; anti-social driving, alcohol related disorder), public place violent crime, racist incidents, graffiti, criminal damage, environmental crime, abandoned vehicles, poor lighting etc. Residents and the local community are encouraged to report issues (see reporting mechanisms below)

The priorities for the CDRP are set out in the Partnership Plan 2008-11
