Find My Nearest in Discover Worthing

This tool allows you to find the nearest facility within a certain distance.

If you wish you can first use the 'Address Search' to find a starting point for the 'Find My Nearest' search.

Pass the arrow cursor over the 'Find My Nearest' button, click once with the left-hand mouse button, now when the cursor is moved over the map it will be in the shape of a cross.

Move the cursor over a location where you want to start the search and click once. This will bring up a pop-up box titled 'Find My Nearest'. This will have a set of boxes to fill in.

Select the appropriate facility to search for by clicking on the side arrow on the top box, this will reveal a pull-down box displaying the categories available. Click once on your facility category.

Select the maximum search distance in kilometers by clicking on the side arrow on the second box. This will reveal a pull-down box with the choice of: 250m, 500m,1km, 5km, 10km or 12km. Click once on your search distance category. The default selection is 500 m.

To submit the search, click  Submit the search icon.

A results table and map is displayed in a new pop-up window. The map will show the search radius and the location of each facility that has been found.  The Distance column in the table indicates the distance in meters from the center of the search to each facility.

To resize this pop-up window, move the mouse to the top right-hand corner of the screen. The cursor will change to a double headed arrow and you can then resize the screen by clicking on the left mouse button and dragging the screen to the size you want.

If you wish, select one of the rows from the results table by clicking in the selected row with the left-hand mouse button. A new map will appear in the pop-up window showing your selection in detail.  The results map will show a line from the position that you started your search to the facility that is shown in the detailed map.

You can repeat the Find My Nearest search by clicking on  Find My Nearest icon and then repeating the process outlined above.

You can close the pop-up window simply by clicking the cross in its top right-hand corner.

You can cancel this search by clicking on  Cancel new search icon.  This will remove the search radius from the main Discober Worthing map.
