Bonfires & Fireworks

Properly organised traditional Bonfire & Firework parties and events can be great family entertainment.

Garden bonfires and fireworks are popular throughout the year, and particularly so in the Autumn. However, although fun, bonfires and fireworks can cause pollution and nuisance. Worthing Borough Council receives many complaints concerning smoke and noise nuisance.

The leaflets below set out some of the concerns and problems experienced with some bonfires and fireworks, the legislation and how to avoid annoyance to neighbours. If you feel that you are suffering unreasonable nuisance from regular garden bonfires or firework parties please contact the Environmental Protection Team.

They can be contacted at:

or on 01903 221064
