One of the main responsibilities of Worthing Borough Council's Environmental Health Food and Occupational Health Group is to ensure that food produced, purchased and/or consumed in the Borough is safe and without risks to health.

This aspiration is met by the appropriate and proportionate enforcement of food safety legislation, carrying out inspection of food and food premises, sampling and analysis of foodstuffs, the investigation of complaints regarding food and food premises, including cases of food poisoning, and the provision of advice to businesses and the public on legislative requirements and good food hygiene practice.

This aspiration links with the Council’s strategic objectives to make Worthing a town where people want to live, work and invest, and to make Worthing a safer, cleaner and healthier town.
The following service plans set out details of the food safety work planned by the Food & Occupational Health (FOH) Group (current year and previous years). If you have any queries about the plan please do not hesitate to contact the FOH Group.
