Licensing is the tool used by Government to ensure the safety of the public and enforce standards in a number of industries and activities. Worthing Borough Council is the Licensing Authority under the terms of a number of acts of parliament and has the responsibility for administrating and enforcing a diverse selection of licensing legislation.
The Environmental Health Department at Worthing Borough Council is responsible for the administration and enforcement of many aspects of licensing within the borough.
Please use the section links on the left to access information on the many different forms of licensing that the council is responsible for. The majority of licensing, including licences issued under the Licensing Act 2003, the Gambling Act 2005, and the various acts that regulate Taxi licensing are dealt with by the council's Licensing Unit. However, because some licensing requires highly technical advice some requests are handled by other specialists within the council. Concequently there are some different contact details for these types of licence. To get the right contact details, first choose the type of licence you require.
