Worthing Borough Council’s Statement of Licensing Policy

One of Worthing Borough Council’s responsibilities under the Licensing Act 2003 is the continuous review and publishing of its Statement of Licensing Policy the document by which all applications for licences are considered.

Under section 5 of the Licensing Act 2003 the Licensing Authority, Worthing Borough Council, is obliged to re-determine its policy, with respect to the exercise of its licensing functions, at least every three years. Worthing’s revised Licensing Policy came into force on 7th January 2011.

The Council, to comply with the act, completed an extensive public consultation on its 'Statement of Policy' and the full Council voted to adopt this revised policy at its meeting in December 2010. A copy of the policy can be found below.

Worthing Borough Council would like to thank all those that have responded to its request for comments and would like to assure all respondants that all your views were considered, noted and where necessary amendments made to the draft before it was presented to the Council for adoption.
