Gambling Act 2005 - Applications Completed
Please find below a list of applications made since 1 January 2009 to the Licensing Authority, Worthing Borough Council, for new Premises Licences and for Variations to existing Premises Licences.
The terms of the Gambling Act 2005 dictate that all such applications are publicised and consulted on. If no representations are receieved from 'Responsible Authorities' or 'Interested Parties' such applications must be granted as applied for. If relevant representations are received and mediation between the parties is unsuccessful then the application has to be deliberated by a sub committee of the Licensing & Control Committee following a hearing.
Gala Club Bingo - Variation
An application for a variation to the bingo premises licence at:
'Gala Club Bingo - The Plaza'
The club is situated in Rowlands Road, Worthing, BN11 3JS. The application sought authorisation for:
- Minor alterations to the layout of the ground floor area which houses the amusement with prizes machines.
No changes to the hours or types of regulated activity provided were proposed by this application and all other conditions of the licence to remain unchanged

The adult gaming centre is situated on the ground floor of Connaught House, 32-34 Marine Parade, Worthing BN11 3QA. The application sought:

To extend the ambit of the area licensed for gaming. Absorbing onto this premise licence areas previously licensed under the authority of seperate premises licences (Licenced as the small arcade).
The licence holder, Connaught Leisure Ltd. has made their intention known to the licensing authority that if the variation is granted the 'seperate licence for the small arcade' will be surrendered.
