The Housing Services Department provides a range of housing advice and services to the people of Worthing.
There continues to be a severe shortage of homes in the area, in both social and private sector housing, especially for small families and we therefore take a proactive approach to dealing with housing problems.
Our Housing Team is committed to helping prevent or resolve threatened homelessness. All available options will be explored to enable resolution to housing difficulties. We also aim to provide choice, advice and support regarding how people can solve their own housing need.

- Homelessness - Provides information on the Homelessness Legislation (Part VII – 1996 housing Act as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002), including what happens if a person needs to make a homeless application to the Borough Council. Also Includes the homeless survival guide, this is a downloadable pocket guide for homeless people, listing available services.
- House Exchange/Swap – Provides information on how to exchange/swap properties in the Worthing area if you are already a social housing (council house or local housing association) tennant
- Housing Register – Provides information about the Borough Council’s Housing Register, includes downloadable application form and policy booklet.
- Housing Strategy – Details of the Borough Council’s Housing Strategy and Housing Needs Survey.
