Financial Assistance Currently Unavailable (2010/11)

Unfortunately, due to current financial restrictions and demands placed on this year’s Capital Budget, the Council’s Discretionary Housing Renewal Assistance Scheme did not receive sufficient priority to receive funding, until at least April 2011. Consequently the Borough Council is unable to offer financial assistance for Renovation or Repair works to either Owner/Occupiers or to Landlords of long term Empty Dwellings, at this time.

The Staying Put Grant, Repairs and Renovation Assistance and Empty Property Grant Schemes have all been discontinued in the current financial year 2010/2011.

Mandatory Grants

Mandatory Grants are also available from the Borough Council for a range of structural works or adaptations needed to help a disabled person live more independently in his or her home. More information about this is available from the Disabled Facilities Grants page.
