Can you get a wheelchair onto the beach?
Yes, but bear in mind it is a stony beach.

 
Is it a sandy beach?
When the tide is out at its full extent there is sand and the part nearest the promenade is pebbles. No sand dunes.
Where is the nearest sandy beach?
West Beach in Littlehampton.
Do you have shower facilities by the beach?
No.
Are there toilets by the beach?
Yes there are a number of blocks along the promenade.
Are there lifeguards on the beach?
No there are no lifeguards but there are foreshore inspectors with first aid training, who patrol the beach and promenade area. Lifesaving equipment is positioned along the seafront and in the main season safety boats are on the ramp or are patrolling the water. All staff have radio links including to Solent Coastguard .
Where can I take my dog on the beach in Worthing?
1st May to 30th September dogs excluded between Heene Road and Splash point, and between the two boat launching ramps in Goring.
1st October – 30th April dogs can go on any part of the beach.
Do you have a café on the beach?
Small café on the front near Denton Gardens.
Refreshments available from the Denton lounge at the Pier and the Lido on the promenade directly overlooking the seafront.
There are a number of bars and cafes on the sea facing side of the promenade.

Have we got a Blue flag?
No.We have a Seaside award for facilities. Nearest Blue Flag Beach is east at Littlehampton.
Do you have any donkeys?
No.
Have you any seaweed at the moment?

Do you have any boat trips?
Not on a regular basis – contact the Tourist Information Centre for details of options in the area.
What is the weather like?

 Can I go (deep) sea fishing on a boat?
Not from Worthing. Contact Foreshore Office or Tourist Information Centre for further details.
Can you buy fish fresh from the boats?
Yes – some fishermen sell from their launch pads in the mornings. Try along Promenade opposite the Dome Cinema / east of the Pier.
Can I go fishing off the pier?
Yes – Pier usually open from 8am till 9pm (times may vary with seasons). Cannot fish overnight. Do watch for some signs showing areas where fishing is not permitted due to safety considerations. For further information contact Foreshore Office.
Do you have to pay to get on to the pier?
No.
What time is the Pier open?
Pier usually open from 8am till 9pm (times may vary with seasons). Except for access to nightclub. For further information contact Foreshore Office.
Where can I ride a horse?
You can ride on the sand between 1st May – 30th September not after 10am or before 8pm. In winter you can ride on the sand at any time. It may be easier to west of Worthing around Goring or Ferring where it is easier to park vehicles.For a list of Council bye-laws – contact the Foreshore Office.
When is high and low tide?
Contact Tourist Information Centre or the Foreshore Office.

Can I windsurf kite-surf or jetski in Worthing?
You can in restricted areas, contact Foreshore Office or Tourist Information Centre for further information.
Jetskis from Alinora carpark – public launch ramp. Jetskis have max speed 8 knots inside the yellow marker buoys. No Motor tow from water – due to car park height barrier.
Yacht club NO USE of mini motor bikes / Quads try brooklands.
When are the Waverly or Balmoral ships visiting Worthing?

Where can you get FREE dog mess bags
These are available from the Beach Office, situated next to the Lido
Is there Boat Mooring in Worthing?
No, the nearest is Shoreham (Surrey Boat Yard, Brighton Road, Shoreham by Sea, West Sussex, BN43 6RN.  Telephone 01273 461491.  Littlehampton, Arundel, Brighton and Chichester all have boat moorings.
