Safety Boat Patrol

During the summer months between 1st May until 31st September we operate our Safety Boat patrols, the boats we use are 5.4 metre rigid inflatable’s, powered by 75hp 4 stroke outboard engines, the crews are fully trained to a standard which complies to the boats Marine Coastguard Agency  small work/rescue certificates which both boats have, they are fitted with VHF radios, GPS navigation, flares, 1st Aid equipment also hand held radios when they have to come ashore to deal with any incidents that may occur.

Each boat have a crew of 2 person with a senior boat operator who is trained as an RYA instructor in overall charge of the daily running of the Safety Boat service which covers 5.5 miles of coastline between Ferring & Lancing.
