We focus on:

  • youth groups
  • retirement centres
  • other community organisations

We use a range of methods to meet the local needs including

  • Taster Days
  • Introductory sessions
  • Activity programmes of 10 –12 weeks duration
  • Short Courses
  • Competitions.

Current Programme

See the Current Programme section for details about our latest projects.

We are committed to recruiting and training people as sports coaches, officials and administrators so that the skills are available in the community to sustain whatever schemes we start.

Coach Scholarships and Advice

The Coach Scholarship Scheme provides financial assistance to help cover the cost of training courses.

We aim to make a difference in the long term and a lot of our time is spent supporting local clubs and other groups with advice about funding and how to develop their infrastructure.

Leisure Card Scheme

We also help manage the Leisure Card Scheme which enables people on low incomes to use the Borough Council's sports venues.

Leisure and Sports Activities Directory

The Leisure and Sports Activities Directory lists a variety of organisations offering a wide range of local activities. If you are an official of a club that wants to register on the Directory please either complete the on-line registration form or download the registration form and mail it back to us.
