Quick Tips

No hosepipes
No sprinklers
No need to water lawn
Only water during late evenings/early mornings
Re-use household water eg soapy water (this can help control insect pests)
Harvest rainwater using water butts
Compost greenwaste, organic material helps retain water
Use mulching materials such as bark, stone, gravel, and slate to help prevent evaporation of water and suppress weeds.
Select plants that do not require as much water eg Geraniums, Rudbeckias, Gazanias.
Use water retentive polymer in plantings
Consider sowing half hardy annuals, which are less water demanding during the establishment stage
