What is the Leisure Activity Directory?

The Leisure Activity Directory is a local source of sports and other leisure pusuits in the Worthing area. Generally anything within a ten mile radius can be included although there are one or two exceptions. Originally the directory was for sports clubs only, however recently Worthing Arts Council agreed that we could also host their group listings so we hope to not only include activites like basketball, climbing and sailing, but also painting, photography and much more.

Do you check the clubs listed?

No. We are offering a way for you to make contact with clubs in the area, and any link or reference to a club in this directory is not an indication of recommendation. Every effort has been made to ensure that the listings contain current and correct information, Worthing Borough Council cannot be held responsible for any changes referring to individual clubs. Always check with the club.

How can I find a club?

Search for an activity from our directory's home page either on the type of activity, location or name. You can use any of three criteria. You can also choose only to show those with an e-mail address, a telephone address or a website. By default, only those with a telphone number will be returned.

Not every club is listed on our on-line database. This is because some clubs prefer not to be listed on our website even though we have them on record.

Why are meeting venues not listed?

Purely for privacy reasons.

Can I add our club to your database?

Of course, you can add a new activity right now on-line. Fill in the form as accurately as possible and the Leisure Development Team will moderate your addition as soon as possible. As soon as it's been checked over and you are happy for it to be on our website, we will list your club on-line.

How can I change our club's details?

If you are already listed on our directory on-line, and have a registered e-mail address, you can edit the basic details for your club on-line. You must be able to reach the registered e-mail address as before any submissions are made for us to check, a unique code is sent to the registered e-mail address so we can verify your identity.

If you are not sure if you have a registered e-mail address, find your club's entry in our directory and if underneath there is an edit button, you can edit your club's basic details.

I can't edit my details on-line but need some changes made

Contact the Leisure Development Team via e-mail with your club's name and the details you need changing. If you do have a club e-mail address, please advise us of this. With an e-mail address you will be able to edit the basic club details on-line.

Will you contact me if I am listed?

Occassionally (maybe once a year) we mail out information about any changes to the directory.

Will there be any further changes?

Yes. We hope to add a picture/photo upload facility so you can add photos for your club/activity's listing.

Why change the old directory?

The old directory was really hard to maintain, as the website listings had to be typed up manually. Realistically the information on the website could be up to six months out of date. We also felt the old directory didn't looked very polished and finally we felt we could do something a great deal more engaging with the community.
