Construction Details:-
Wearing Course
Depth 40mm constructed from either: -
- Hot rolled asphalt wearing course to BS594 Part1. 30/14 Recipe Type F Mix, 50 pen (2 to 8 stability) or;
- Close graded wearing course macadam to BS4987 Part1. 10mm size dense, 100 pen or;
- Dense wearing course macadam to BS4987 Part 1. 6mm size dense, 100 pen.
Base Course
Depth 60mm constructed from either: -
- Hot rolled asphalt base course to BS594 Part 1. 50/20 mix, 100 pen or;
- Dense macadam base course to BS4987 Part 1. 20mm size dense, 100 pen.
Road Base
Depth 150mm constructed from:-
- Granular Sub_base Material Type 1 to DTLR 'Specification for Highway Works' Clause 803
- Concrete alternative. C40 concrete slab, minimum 150mm thick, laid in bays not exceeding 20m2 with maximum bay length not exceeding 6m, on Granular Sub-base Material Type 1 to DTLR 'Specification for Highway Works' Clause 803, minimum 150mm thick on prepared sub-base.
- Block Paving alternative. 80mm Pre-cast Concrete Block Paving to BS6717 Part 1, on 50mm compacted grade C sharp sand to BS882, on Granular Sub-base Material Type 1 to DTLR 'Specification for Highway Works' Clause 803, minimum 150mm thick on prepared sub-base
