Technical Guidance Note 30: Fire Safety Signage
Introduction
The following sign layouts will satisfy the requirements of current Building Regulation for escape route direction signs, and mandatory fire door & escape route signs. The positioning of signs should be as specified in BS 5499 - 4:2000 Safety signs, including fire safety signs. Part 4: Code of practice for escape route signing.
Emergency Escape Route Direction Signs.
Design complying with: -
- BS 5499 – 1:2002 Graphical symbols and signs. Safety signs, including fire safety signs. Part 1: Specification for geometric shapes, colours and layout.
- Health and Safety (Safety signs and signals) Regulations 1996.
- ECC Directive 92/58/E.C.C.
- ISO 6309.
Mandatory Fire Door Signs And Escape Route Signs
