The Government monitors the efficiency of Local Authorities through the use of Best Value Performance Indicator (BVPI) targets. In Planning, we set our own "local performance" targets at higher levels than those required by Government, in our continuing effort to provide you with an excellent service at the lowest cost.

The tables below show our performance in a number of key areas.

1. Cost of Planning Service Per Head of Population (2003/2004).

Please note that the these figures are compiled by Central Government and the 2003/2004 year is the latest currently released.
