Five Year Housing Land Supply Assessment

Planning Policy Statement 3: Housing, published in November 2006 and revised in June 2011, requires Local Planning Authorities to identify and ensure that there is a continuous five year supply of deliverable sites for housing development.  The draft National Planning Policy Framework also indicates that there will be a continued requirement to maintain and report on a 5 year Housing Land Supply.

The Department for Communities and Local Government has produced guidance on how to demonstrate a five year supply of deliverable housing sites.  This guidance has been used to inform the assessment that has been undertaken by Worthing Borough Council.  The assessment concludes that the Borough does have a five year supply of deliverable sites for residential development for the period 2011 to 2016.
