Application Number:  WB/04/00040/OUT

Proposal: Outline application for development of land for residential (up to 875 units), recreation, retail, community and education purposes and improvement works at Titnore Lane, West Durrington with construction of a new access from Titnore Lane, access via Fulbeck Avenue and up to 100 dwellings served off Tasman Way. This application is accompanied by an Environmental Statement.

Representations: To be received by 9th October 2008.  You may use our online planning system to express your support or objection to this proposal.

The main change to the scheme is that it now no longer proposes straightening part of Titnore Lane and seeks instead to slow traffic speeds by the introduction of new speed management measures.  In addition the access off Titnore Lane is now via a “standard” T junction rather than the previously proposed roundabout.  A new Environmental Statement has been submitted including up to date ecological surveys and addressing revised policies on flood risk, surface water drainage, air quality, noise assessments and sustainability issues.  The revised application indicates the loss of around 75 trees, a reduction of some 200 trees on the previous scheme.
