My Wheelie Bin is full before the collection day - What can I do?
With the new collection service, if your refuse wheelie bin is full, Adur & Worthing Council Services will not collect extra bags. This is to mimimise the amount of waste being put into landfill. There are however options that can help you deal with the problem in the short term and longer term:
- You can dispose of household waste at a local Household Waste Recycling Site for no charge.
- Take a look at this year's 'For Better Tomorrows' booklet produced by a partnership initiative between the County, District and Borough Councils of West Sussex. is packed with great offers, that you can get involved with at home - from reducing waste and saving energy to travelling to work and buying local food.
- In the longer term we recommend that you recycle as much material as possible, for a list of what we can take for recycling please see our Recycling page
- You can also dispose of excess recycling at a Recycling Point - many points have textile/clothes recycling points
- Start Home Composting or using a Food Waste Bin. These are subsidised by West Sussex County Council. are environmentally friendly and can reduce the level of waste put out for collection considerably.
Bulky Waste
There are some goods that are too large for the weekly refuse collection service. You can take these to the Household Waste Recycling Site (Amenity Site/Tip) or arrange a bulky waste collection.
