 Broadwater Village Sign, Cricketers Parade   

We are pleased to announce that the new Broadwater Village sign was officially launched on September 9th 2011 at noon by the Mayor of Worthing, Councillor Ann Barlow. The sign, which is located on the grass verge near to Cricketers Parade in Broadwater, was blessed by The Mayor's Chaplain Revd. Peter Irwin-Clark, who is Rector of Broadwater Parish Church.

Councillor Bryan Turner, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Ward Councillor for Gaisford, was in attendance for the unveilling along with Tanya Milne, the designer of the sign, and Kyle Swann, who crafted the sign.

 

 

 Broadwater Village Sign Launch Day 

 

The launch day coincided with the Worthing Heritage Days tour of St Mary's church in Broadwater and two ladies in full 1800's costume attended the unveilling to mark the connection with Jane Austen, who once stayed in Broadwater.
