Help completing a claim form

The Council wants to ensure that all residents are awarded the Housing and Council Tax Benefit that they are entitled to.

If you need help completing a claim form for Benefit and are unable to come to the Town Hall to see a Customer Service Advisor, the Council's Benefit Take-up Officer (Becky Higgins) will be happy to make an appointment to visit you at home.  Between April 2009 and March 2010 Rebecca helped nearly two hundred customers claim more than £460,000 per year in Housing and Council Tax Benefit.

Those that she has helped include people who

  • Have difficulty reading or writing
  • Have difficulty completing claim forms
  • Have a disability meaning that they were unable to visit the Town Hall
  • Receive a Pension Credit from the Department for Work & Pensions but who were not claiming Housing or Council Tax Benefit

To make an appointment at a time that is convenient for you, please telephone Rebecca on 01903 221259 or email her at rebecca.higgins@adur-worthing.gov.uk.
