The majority of matter relating to the provision and maintenance of lighting within West Sussex and the Borough of Worthing are principally the responsibility of West Sussex County Council (WSCC).

However, the Borough Council and third parties are responsible for a small percentage of columns within the borough such as decorative lighting along the seafront.

Reporting a Fault

Full details of ownership and responsibility for individual lighting columns can be found on the Worthing mapping service Discover Worthing.

Alternatively you may report any fault directly to the West Sussex County Council which relates to:

  • Street lights
  • Illuminated signs
  • Illuminiated bollards

You can also report a fault online at West Sussex County Council's online reporting page or by using Worthing Borough Council's Help Point located in the reception area of the Town Hall, Chapel Road Worthing.
