Technical Services is a multi-disciplinary team supported by a range of external consultants of 66 professional staff led by Cliff Harrison M.R.I.C.S. a Chartered Building Surveyor.

Technical Services includes :

  • Engineering Services providing the Council's civil engineering functions, including coast protection, land drainage and highway liaison with West Sussex County Council.
  • Surveying & Design Services repair, maintain, carry out improvement and refurbishment contracts and new build schemes to Adur and Worthing Councils non-housing corporate property. Other areas of work include public convenience cleaning contract.
  • Estates dealing with the management of Council property
  • Business Services provides purchasing and procurement capability & aims to ensure E-Government compatibility throughout the Council.
  • Corporate Information responsible for the Local Land & Property Gazetteer (LLPG), Street Naming & Numbering, House Naming & Numbering, Worthing Borough Council's Mapping Services Agreement, Corporate Geographical Information Systems, Data & Interactive Mapping site Discover Worthing.
  • Parking Team manage the Civil Parking Enforcement (CPE) within the Borough.
  • Parks and Open Spaces - these are operated by Leisure & Cultural Services.
  • Cemeteries - for all information on the cemeteries in Worthing
  • Adur Watch - inspects, monitors and reports on matters affecting Council assets and the well-being of the community in Adur.
