This is a summary of Worthing Borough Council's ICT Capital Investment Programme Projects for this financial year and their current status

  • Adur & Worthing Council Services Network Replacement

    Replacement of structured data network infrastructure at Commerce Way to bring it to a certified and sustainable standard for the purposes of shared Service IT Support (AWS).

    Status: Completed June 2008.

  • Desktop/Infrastructure and Software Replacement Programme

    To continually upgrade desktop, infrastructure and software to ensure a suitable future proof and consistent standard of IT equipment and software throughout the Authority that meets current and future Government Modernisation requirements.

    Status: Ongoing rolling programme of replacement and component upgrade for completion by the end of March 2009.  Also includes the Microsoft Enterprise License Agreement annual fee and true-up components.

  • Members ICT Provision

    To provide all Members with PC and locally attached printer to aid remote working and save postage, courier and consumable costs. This will also provide limited compemnsation for the broadband costs.

    Status: Procurement is already underway following the submission of requirements after the May 2008 elections.

  • Backup Technology Refresh

    To replace the existing ageing ICT backup systems with a more modern and business continuity capable technology.

    Status: Gathering information to create a User Requirement prior to Tender.

  • End Point Device Security

    To implement systems that secure the Councils PC/Laptop and PDA estate to prevent accidental or deliberate data loss.  This will control removable media and disk encryption on all mobile devices.

    Status: Gathering information to create a User Requirement prior to Tender.
