Ordnance Survey Extracts

From 30 September 2007, Ordnance Survey changed their licensing agreement with Local Authorities. Worthing Borough Council are continuing to supply Ordnance Survey map extracts to support Planning and Building Applications. However, we are now providing this service in conjunction with an approved Ordnance Survey Partner. If you have used this service in the past you may notice that the appearance of the plans is slightly different. There has also been a change in the pricing structure as detailed below.

By contacting the Planning Services Section will be able to advise you on exactly which set of plans you need. Then contact the Support Services Team of Technical Services to order them.

Current Charges

  • £21.92 for 2 copies (Building Control application only 2 copies @ 1:1250 scale)
  • £22.30 for 4 copies (Household Planning application only - 4 copies @ 1:1250 scale)
  • £22.49 for 5 copies (Non Household Planning application only - 5 copies @ 1:1250 scale)
  • £22.68 for 6 copies (Combined Household Planning & Building Control application - 6 copies @ 1:1250 scale)
  • £22.87 for 7 copies (Combined 'other' Planning & Building Control application - 7 copies @ 1:1250 scale)
  • £33.04 for 8 copies (4 copies @ 1:1250 scale and 4 copies @ 1:500 scale)
  • £33.28 for 10 copies (5 copies @ 1:1250 scale and 5 copies @ 1:500 scale)
  • £33.52 for 12 copies (6 copies @ 1:1250 scale and 6 copies @ 1:500 scale)

Payment

Payment may be made either by cash, credit/debit card or cheque to Worthing Borough Council and must be made prior to the issue of the relevant plan prints. These can either be posted or collected from our office at Portland House. Payments made by credit/debit card can be taken over the phone.

The Ordnance Survey plan is A4 size and will show your required property with all buildings surrounding it. The plans should have a standard acknowledgement at the bottom of them advising that they are subject to Crown Copyright.

There are a number of other options now available to you to obtain the necessary plans including:-

  • Planning Portal: You will be able to purchase and download your plans or submit your application online.
  • Ordnance Survey Go to an authorised Ordnance survey Mapping and Data Centre. Find out where these are by telephoning the Ordnance Survey Customer Information Help Line - 0845 050505, or by visiting their website .
  • Library: Copies may be obtained from Worthing Library to be used for either ‘Fair Dealing’ - research, private study or review, or ‘Judicial Proceedings’ – court requested submissions which are NOT for applications to the Council.
