9th June 2008

Great to have access to a website. However the Events Section is almost impossible to read / comprehend. Why is there not a dedicated presented webpage as e.g. Arun District Council. Best regards.

This is something we have known about for some time and yours is one of quite a few comments we get about our Events page. People do use it a lot and I think it also needs some time and attention.

Looking at Arun's website, I see that you can search for events and there are three options for today's, tomorrow's and the forthcoming weekend's events which I think is excellent.

I will be tidying up the event listing pages as they stand and bringing links in to also cover the Museum and Art Gallery and the Theatres for the time being.

In the medium term I will work on creating something like Arun has, I only hope I can get the time very soon as this is quite important. We have already completely sorted out a similar section to this in the past month, the Leisure and Sports Clubs Listings. These used to be listed on a page as long as your arm and looked pretty untidy and just were not enticing. Now we have a fully fledged Leisure and Sports Clubs directory which is a lot better (see below). I see the need for our Events listings to be as good as this.

Old Leisure Directory on the old website - difficult to search and use
The Old Leisure Directory: On our old website. Unappealing and not easy to use and search.

New Leisure Directory on Worthing.gov.uk
New Leisure Directory: On our new website, easy to search, use and more up to date.
