Biography

Hazel Thorpe has been in Education for several years, being a lifelong learner,  has both an Open University degree  in Mathematics / Teaching  and a Master’s degree in Education. She has spent a great deal of her time championing  the cause for children with Special Educational Needs, which she enjoys as it is a fulfilling role.

As a grandmother of three, she appreciates the challenges of bringing up children in an uncertain world. Her role on the Council has changed but she still has a great interest in Housing, believing that this is a crucial issue for individual’s well being.

She continues to support the Arts, including in her hobbies,  going to the Theatre.

As a former Art teacher, she backs the premise that we all need to be more creative in our thinking, and is supporting Worthing First, our exciting,  local Business Forum, Worthing Information Shop and the Worthing Arts Council, amongst other groups.

If you wish to speak to a Tarring Councillor, surgeries are held every Saturday morning from 10.30 to 11.00 at West Worthing Baptist Church Coffee lounge. Entrance in South Street Tarring. We look forward to seeing residents either for a chat or to discuss any problems they may have that we can help with.
