Councillors' Allowances 2010/2011 & 2011/2012
Independent Remuneration Panel Recommendations
The Independent Remuneration Panel has submitted its recommendations for 2010/11 and 2011/12.
The Council did not accept the recommendations of the Independent Remuneration Panel at its meeting in April 2011.

Worthing Borough Council has received from its Independent Remuneration Panel recommendations in regard to the Scheme of Members' Allowances for the 12-month period commencing 16 May 2008. The main features of the recommendations are an increase in the basic allowance payable to all Members of 2.5%. Under the recommendations, which were agreed by the Council at its meeting on 9 December 2008, the new allowances will be as follows:-

| Other Members of Licensing and Control Committee | £156 per annum |
| Chairman of Overview and Scrutiny Committee | £2,118 per annum |
| Vice Chairman of Overview and Scrutiny Committee | £747 per annum |
| Chairman of Governance and Audit Committee | £591 per annum |
| Policy Advisors | £528 per annum |
| Opposition Group Leader | £2,403 per annum |
| Opposition Deputy Group Leader | £936 per annum |
